Leslie, Rob and Sable Rose’s Birthing Story

I went into labor on my estimated due date, November 14, 2010. It was a Sunday. Contractions were only once an hour and were mostly mild. My husband, Rob, called Sheila and updated her. That evening, we went to bed and I was able to sleep through the contractions.

On Monday early morning, contractions picked up to about once every 15-20 minutes. We asked our friend to come pick up our 3 year-old son, Colby. In the meantime, contractions slowed back down to once every 30 minutes or so. In the early afternoon, Rob and I went for a walk around our neighborhood. Contractions increased to every 7 minutes or so. Back at home, I had another nap. We had a very relaxing day together, spending it alone with each other and talking about our little girl. In the early evening, a friend came over and he and Rob played their guitars and sang a few songs for me. Contractions went back to every 15-20 minutes.
