Our time together will help to create a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. During prenatal visits we spend ample time together preparing and getting you ready to birth your baby. |
Appointments:
It is preferable that you schedule your first appointment as early as possible in your pregnancy. This appointment will include a full prenatal examination including routine blood tests, urinalysis, blood pressure and a complete medical and obstetrical history. learn more...

A physical evaluation of you, your baby as well as discussing you and your partner’s emotional state and feelings on the physiological changes you’ve been experiencing throughout your pregnancy. The average prenatal appointment is approximately one hour long consisting of a physical evaluation of you and your baby as well as discussing you and/or your partner’s emotional state and your feelings on the physiological changes you’ve been experiencing throughout your pregnancy. The typical prenatal consists of the standard evaluations below:
Uterine Size, Weight Gain, Urine Test, Blood Pressure, Fetal Movement, Fetal Heart Rate, Fetal Presentation, Edema (Swelling), Nutrition, Herbs, and Supplements overview, and any other information applicable to your month of pregnancy….
Ultrasounds:
Ultrasounds are not normally required within our practice, although many families choose to have one. Although rare, there are only a few reasons we may feel that a diagnostic ultrasound is called for and we will discuss it thoroughly with you and your partner should we think that one is necessary.
Lab Tests Lab testing is a recommended part of prenatal care and is offered to all clients. Such tests include: Prenatal Profile, Pap Smear, Gonorrhea/Chlamydia screen, Diabetes screen, repeat blood tests at 28 & 36 weeks. An HIV screen is also recommended. A Sickle Cell screen when indicated. Other tests such as: Ultrasound, Maternal Serum Alpha-fetal Protein, Amniocentesis and GBS screening as offered to all clients. However, these tests are strongly suggested only if medically indicated. Clients with no risk factors can waive these procedures based on an informed decision making process.Go Back
